Knorr-Bremse acquires Electrical Systems activities of Vossloh

Drive control systems added to portfolio

The Knorr-Bremse Group is acquiring Vossloh Kiepe – the Electrical Systems unit of Vossloh AG. The two companies have signed an agreement to this effect. With this acquisition, the world’s leading manufacturer of braking systems is adding state-of-the-art drive technology for rail and commercial vehicles to its portfolio.

Knorr-Bremse AG, the leading manufacturer of braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles, is issuing a corporate bond with a volume of EUR 500 million. The bond has a fixed coupon rate of 0.50 percent p. a. and a five-year term.

Knorr-Bremse demonstrates autonomous yard maneuvering

Trucks maneuvering around the depot with no driver could soon be a reality: Knorr-Bremse has built an autonomous semitrailer rig that can drive itself to the loading bay and back across the yard with no driver in the cab. The company is demonstrating this and other driver assistance systems from the future of highly automated commercial vehicles in a test truck in the New Mobility World LIVE arena at the IAA.

Knorr-Bremse to acquire brake friction material specialist ICER Rail

Knorr-Bremse plans to acquire the joint venture ICER Rail in its entirety. Through this move, Knorr-Bremse is extending its position in the field of friction materials –an important, technically demanding part of the braking system. The parties have agreed to treat the purchase price as a confidential matter. The acquisition is subject to approval by the anti-trust authorities.
