From “A-/Outlook positive” to “A/Outlook stable”: Standard & Poor’s upgrades its rating for Knorr-Bremse

Standard & Poor’s has raised its creditworthiness rating for Knorr-Bremse from “A-/Outlook positive” to “A/Outlook stable”. With this upgrade, the rating agency is honoring the continuity of the Group’s performance, the strengthening of its compet-itive position – not least through investments in research and development – and the substantial growth of the Group through acquisitions and joint ventures.

Dr. Bernd Bohr to leave the Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG

Following intensive discussions, Dr. Bernd Bohr and Heinz Hermann Thiele have agreed that Dr. Bohr will resign his seat on the Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse AG effective July 4, 2016 and thus also step down as Chairman of this body.

Knorr-Bremse strengthens its commercial vehicle powertrain business for transmission control solutions

Acquisition in Japan boosts Knorr-Bremse’s market position for on-highway commercial vehicle transmission systems in Asia

Knorr-Bremse is to take over the on-highway CVS transmission components business from Bosch Corporation in Japan. Roughly 120 employees are to be transferred. The acquisition will enable Knorr-Bremse to develop and manufacture gear shift units and clutch actuators as well as transmission control units for trucks and buses locally for the Asian market, thereby reinforcing its competitive position in the AMT and DCT transmission sector in particular. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The acquisition is subject to approval by the anti-trust authorities.

For the eleventh time in succession, Knorr-Bremse won the accolade of “Best Brand in the Commercial Vehicle Industry” in the “brakes” category. Before an audience of prominent representatives of the German commercial vehicle industry, Bernd Spies, Chairman of the Management Board of Knorr-Bremse’s Commercial Vehicle Systems division, stepped up to receive the award at the Wagenhallen event location in Stuttgart.

Top talents project marks tenth anniversary of Knorr-Bremse Global Care

Knorr-Bremse Global Care is a charitable organization that has been helping to fund worldwide aid projects for over ten years. The Innovation Award for students, offered to mark the organization’s tenth anniversary, was won by engineering students from TH Deggendorf Technical University. The jury was impressed by the prototype press they designed for brick production in developing and emerging countries. The award was presented at Knorr-Bremse headquarters in Munich.
